So I was toodling around the interwebs a while back and I came across this image of anthro Celestia asking for more drawings of her. I thought to myself, "Why the hell not? It's a great look for her!"
Am I doing it right?
I don't know.
Please tell my I am.
Mechanical pencil and Photoshop.
My Little Pony is owned by Hasbro.
Celestia's outfit was initially done by Leche.
P.S. I'm still unhappy with her front legs. They look so... lumpy. Forced perspective is hard!
P.P.S. I'm very happy with her wings! You can thank TheAntimonyElement's Bird Wing Tutorial for them!
P.P.P.S. Her eye(s)... That gorgeous definition was actually a sketch mistake that ended up adding tons of depth when I colored them. So beautiful...
Yes. Yes, I did. She's already been popping up in other places?
Also, I'm a sneaky artist. You'd be surprised what I've got floating around out there. (Or, if you've seen my gallery, maybe not.)
Hmmm. It wasn't the most well-thought-out title. Now I feel unoriginal.
I've never believed in pudgy-lestia. She's a lot taller than any other pony in the show, so of course she's going to be "bigger." That doesn't mean she's fat!
The outfit was totally worth it.
I totally read that entire thing in the same voice a that guy from "I'm too sexy for my shirt." And then imagined her dancing around to the song in her room in front of a mirror. Because why not, Celestia's gotta' know she's smexy.
I hate the pitiful, undersized wings that are drawn so often. Especially when you see some really detailed art. They spent all that time making everything else realistic, but it looks like they just kind of tossed in the wings as an afterthought.
Like I said, I'm not entirely happy with her front legs but it would take so much effort to change it now.
The differences in the equine form? Entirely accidental. I was trying to go more horse-like but definitely failed. Her hips are too wide compared to their height though some of that would be because she's got her right leg out a little. It wasn't until after doing a lot of the coloring that I realized just how wide her hips had ended up, but again with the amount of effort needed to fix it.
I could nitpick myself to death if I let me.
